Marine Generator Service and Repair
Service, repair and overhauls for marine generators and engines, at the dock or on the vessel.
Buffalo Power Solutions services, repairs and overhauls marine and offshore generator sets and the engines that drive them, at the dock or on the vessel. Work is dispatched from our Beaumont and Houston branches along the Texas Gulf Coast and into Louisiana, backed by the marine and offshore experience of Emergency Power Service.
Generator Work That Fits a Sailing Schedule
On a vessel, the generator sets are the power plant. They run lighting, pumps, navigation and accommodation, and a fault can hold a boat at the dock when it should be working. Marine jobs come with tight engine rooms, salt air and a departure time that does not move.
Our Beaumont team came to Buffalo Power Solutions through Emergency Power Service, which installs and services mobile and marine generator systems for offshore and industrial customers along the Gulf Coast. Those technicians hold TWIC credentials for access to secure port and industrial facilities.

How a Marine Service Call Works
Call with the vessel, where it is berthed, the generator make and model and when the boat needs to sail.
We confirm access requirements with the vessel operator and the port or terminal.
A technician boards with the parts most likely to be needed for the reported fault.
Repairs are made, the set is tested under the vessel load, and you receive a written service report.
Larger overhauls are scheduled around the vessel calendar, on board or in our shop.
Where We Work

Marine Generator Service: Common Questions
Can you work on the generator while the vessel is at the dock?
Yes. Most marine generator service and repair is done with the vessel alongside, so the boat does not need to come out of the water or move to a yard. Tell us where it is berthed and when it has to sail, and we plan the visit and the parts around that window.
Do your technicians have port access credentials?
Our Beaumont technicians, who joined us through Emergency Power Service, hold TWIC credentials, which are required for unescorted access to secure areas of ports, terminals and many industrial facilities. Let us know the facility when you call so we can send a credentialed technician and meet any site-specific requirements.
Do you work offshore?
Emergency Power Service has long supported offshore operations, and we service mobile and marine generator systems used offshore. Whether a particular job is done at sea, at the dock or with the unit brought ashore depends on access, transport and safety requirements, so tell us where the equipment is and we will confirm how the work can be done.
Do you service the engine as well as the generator?
Yes. A marine generator set is an engine and an alternator working together, and many faults sit in the engine: cooling, fuel delivery, turbocharging or internal wear. We handle both halves, from routine service through overhauls, so you are not coordinating separate contractors on the same set.
What should I have ready before calling?
The vessel name and berth, the generator make, model and serial number, running hours, the alarms or symptoms you are seeing and the time the boat is due to sail. Photos of the nameplate and the alarm screen help us bring the right parts on the first visit.
